File under… “Yes, these are the things I notice”
So I’m watching this new Tracy McGrady Adidas commercial, the one where two kids are narrating, telling a story about how McGrady wins the game at the last minute. After making a clutch free throw, he lights on fire and drains a jumper, then proceeds to grow bat wings and can a three-pointer over the entire crowd at the buzzer… LEFT HANDED. (He’s a righty.)
‘Course, there was no mention of this left-handed feat, so I was pretty sure this was unintentional. Turning to my beautiful TiVo, I went back and watched the sequence again. Every other shot in the commercial was right-handed. In fact, when they show T-Mac rising up for that last-second shot, he’s squaring up right-handed. Clearly, for some reason they flipped the view digitally after the fact, probably because it just looked better that way. And they figured no one would notice.
This doesn’t really affect the commercial at all, so I’m not sure why I took such interest. I guess the answer is that yes, these are the things I notice.

did anyone notice all the fans rushing tmac at the end of the commercial and the police holding them back ……it remindeds me of the ron artest incedent last season when fans and players fought. I do not believe this is what adidas intended to do but I think that they should stop it from running, or atleast edit out the last part.
It switches to him being left handed from being right handed because one of the kids yells out “left-handed!” while McGrady is up in the air. It was the purpose of the commercial for the kids to say what happened and so things kept changing in the story b/c the kids kept changing it.

Didn’t the kids say that T-Mac was home when he was shooting his freethrow shot, why would the crowd at the end rush the court to try and stop him from hitting the game winning shot!? IT DOESN”T MAKE SENSE. But T-Mac is still the coolest basketball player I have ever seen.
The kids say the game was away, then that it was home, then away. THAT”S WHY IT MAKES SENSE. It all takes place at an away court.

Although that story is obviously total crap, it wouldn’t quite surprise me. T-mac is more concerned about how he looks than how he plays. Y’all need to get a grip — T-mac has never won a game that meant anything. Just another selfish so-called superstar who’ll never win a championship!
you no what else is really fucked about this is that he grows wing in the middle of the court and shoots a 3 pointer, why wouldnt he just have those wings the hole time and fly back and forth to win lik e100 nothing
ok JAKE, he didnt have wings during the whole game duh. This entire commercial was based on the game Tmac had during the 04-05 season where he scored 13 points in 45 seconds, i am astonished no one actually knew that, which is the entire reason the commercial was created other than just to promote himself.
I understand why the commercial was made . . .But I think it was a total miss. The whole thing is dark and devilish to me. I hope that he is able to get through whatever he is going through right now.
this is one of my all-time favs. its dark, but the kids talking make it fun. tmac seems to be going through something right now, but i bet he watches this and gets cheered up.
